A significant step in the family company’s succession process
The specialist provider, ematec AG, based in Memmingerberg (Bavaria), has taken a significant step toward successful company succession. The company’s Supervisory Board has now unanimously appointed Julian Eberhard (30 years old) to the Management Board as Chief Technical Officer (CTO). Together with his father, company founder and CEO Manfred Eberhard, he thus forms the dual leadership of the company, which is recognised worldwide as a leading supplier of lifting equipment for the assembly of single rotor blades.
„It’s great that Julian wants to take on this responsibility. It means we can set the course for a successful future for the company at exactly the right time,“ said Oswald Berger, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, at the most recent Supervisory Board meeting.
Company founder Manfred Eberhard (63) wants to step down step by step in the coming years. „It is an absolute gain that we have the perfect successor for me in my family with Julian. This means we can remain the owner-managed family business I built up.“
In its 26-year history, ematec AG has built an excellent international reputation as a solution provider for automation and handling technology. Its customers include all the big names in the automotive industry, such as Mercedes, BMW, Volkswagen, Porsche, Ford and General Motors. In the meantime, ematec has achieved legendary status as a supplier of lifting equipment for the wind power industry. The RBC and RBC-D rotor blade lifting yokes developed by ematec is regarded as the most innovative lifting equipment for the single blade assembly of rotor blades. Enercon alone, the largest German wind turbine manufacturer, has ordered 20 yokes from ematec in the past three years, most of which are already in use worldwide.
Expertise in development
Julian Eberhard has strongly driven the development of high-end yokes in recent years as Head of Design and Technical Director of the company. „I know our company from the ground up and have already travelled to construction sites worldwide to service and support our yokes. It is an honour for me to now be responsible for our team and our company as CTO,“ says Eberhard, who has a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering (TU Munich) and an additional qualification as an international welding engineer. As CTO, he will be responsible for the operational business and development, production, and customer service. At the same time, CEO Manfred Eberhard will continue to take care of administration and sales.
ematec AG employs 60 people in Memmingerberg and has been growing for years with an annual increase in turnover of over 20 per cent.
